Minestrone
Any not too fruity white Chardonnay or Chardonnay Semillon will serve well here.
Mushroom
An earthy, rich mushroom soup is delicious with a medium-bodied savoury red wine such as spicy shiraz or shiraz blends. If it's creamy stick to not-too-fruity dry whites.

Vegetable
Riesling or Chardonnay blends are suited to lighter styles of vegetable soup whilst heartier soups are best matched with Chardonnay or Merlot.
