PENFOLDS Winemaker Nominated As One Of The Nation's Most Eligible Bachelors
18 February 2008
Penfolds Winemaker Tom Riley has been nominated as one of the nation's most eligible bachelors—in the 21st annual CLEO Bachelor of the Year Competition. The eclectic list of 50 nominees includes professional BMX riders, scientists, paralympians and business moguls, mixed in with the traditional array of sports stars, musicians and actors.
Tom said "It is an unusual compliment, one I certainly didn't expect. I am in pretty good company, it is exciting."
Tom was born in Perth in 1980 and now lives in South Australia. Destined to enter the wine industry from a very early age, Tom grew up in Pemberton in the state's south west frequently visiting his mother's family winery near Toodyay. It was on one of these trips that, aged about four, he fell into an open red wine fermenting vat. Yanked out quickly by his father he would always remember the exciting tastes and smells of wine production.
For 21 years, CLEO has unearthed the nation's smartest, sexiest and most eligible single men in the world-famous CLEO Bachelor of the Year. Today CLEO celebrates 21 years of spunk, announcing the nominees for the 2008 CLEO Bachelor of the Year.
Buffed, bronzed, sensitive and sexy—the nominees for the 2008 CLEO Bachelor of the Year are available for Australian women to view, with hot shots of all 50 finalists in the March issue of CLEO, on sale today.
"This year's crop of bachelors is seriously hot, giving us even more reason to celebrate in our 21st year," said CLEO editor Nedahl Stelio. "Brawn, beauty and brains, we've got it all covered in an amazing spread featuring the best talent Australia has to offer."
